Nadia Bongelli has been grooming pets since 2009 and competing since 2012. Her accolades include Barkleigh Honors Up and Coming Groomer of the Year in 2016, Best All Around International Groomer at Intergroom 2017, five Rising Star Gold Medals, Rising Star of the Year award at Intergroom 2016, two Canadian BIS awards and had numerous Open Level placements in Canada and several in the United States. Nadia’s proudest moment was being awarded Canadian Groomer of the Year at the very first Canadian Grooming Industry Awards. She is a Nationally Certified Master Groomer with the National Dog Groomers Assoc. of America, Inc. and a certifier with the Intellectual Groomers Association. Michelle has been showing dogs for over 15 years, putting titles on dogs in conformation, obedience and agility and specializes in Golden Retrievers and Poodles. She has a BA in anthropology from University of Cincinnati. In 2007, she opened Best in Show Grooming, in Cincinnati Ohio. Michelle began competing in grooming contests in 2006, and received many placements, quickly moving up to the highest level. She was honored to make Groom Team USA for 2009.
Dave Campanella is an informative and entertaining seminar speaker, contributing trade columnist and genuine grooming enthusiast. He is Best Shot Pet Products sales and marketing director and has over 25 years of pet industry knowledge and experience. He and his wife Tracy co-owned a full service pet salon and self-wash in Ohio prior to relocating with Best Shot to Kentucky. Together they enjoy exhibiting at grooming shows, being industry ambassadors and showing their Kerry Blue Terrier and Samoyed dogs.
Judi Cantu-Thacker A successful, retired contest groomer and former Groom Team USA Coordinator for 2005/2006, Judi now enjoys working as part of the Wahl Clipper Extreme Team. She owns a successful mobile grooming business in the city of Sugar Land and caters to the "Who's Who" in the city of Houston. Through mobile grooming, she has found the perfect balance between work and family. The result more time to spend with her husband and the ability to support her three children in their academics, extracurricular activities, and as President of the PTA.
Jonathan David has been the recipient of multiple scissoring awards, multiple Best All Around Groomer awards and Best in Show earning him a position on Groomteam USA in 2008 and 2009. Jonathan was also a contestant on Animal Planets “Groomer Has It” and has been featured as a grooming expert on multiple television shows. Linda is an International Certified Master Groomer and President of International Professional Groomer, Inc. As a competitive groomer, Linda had many wins, including included Best in Show, Best All-Around Groomer, winning the Edemco 'Total Groom Extravaganza'. After putting several obedience titles on her dogs, she worked as a professional handler, finishing and putting championship points on over 60 champions in over 20 breeds and 7 groups. Her grooming career began in 1973, and her current grooming salon and self-wash is in Salem, Oregon. Dr. Cliff Faver, a 1987 graduate of CSU, is the founder/owner of Animal Health Services (7 doctors, 4 groomers, 50 employees) in Cave Creek, Arizona. He is the US distributor for Iv San Bernard products. He uses the two businesses as a means of merging the grooming and veterinary professions to pursue his life’s passion of healing and helping pets. Dr. Faver is an international speaker and teaches the ISB Pet Aesthetician Certification program. It has always been my life goal to one day be an animal cop, just like the show on Animal Planet. As I grew older my vision for myself changed slightly but still had animals in mind. At 26 years old I decided to start my own non-profit animal rescue. Miffy’s Animal Rescue, named after my rescued poodle, was established in March of 2016. In two years’ time I saved 400 sweet souls from high kill shelters and have placed 100% of them into loving FURever homes. I am very excited to be speaking at World Dog Expo this year to share my experience and knowledge on how to open a non-profit animal rescue. There more rescues we have, the more lives we can save.

Nicole Kallish is a Certified Master Groomer and the Global Education Manager at Andis Company. Nicole attended the Academy of Dog Grooming Arts and then successfully ran her mobile grooming business for six years prior to starting a shop in Sarasota. Nicole had worked her way up the ranks in the ring earning many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placements in entry and intermediate levels, including Best Groomed Dog. Nicole won “Rising Star of the Year” at Intergroom in 2013 and was a Barkleigh Honors nominee for "Up and Coming Groomer of the Year" and a nominee for the Cardinal Crystal Achievement Awards “Mobile Groomer of the Year” 2011 and 2012. Milena started off in graphic design and direct sales before realizing that she wanted to do more with animals. So, she went into grooming in 2013. She started competing in Extreme Creative Styling & Creative Abstract grooming contests in 2015, and won Up-and-Coming Creative Groomer that same year. Internationally renowned creative stylist and instructor, Angela Kumpe has more placements in creative styling than anyone, worldwide. Marco Lalau was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and came to the United States for college. He graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Marketing. His German Shepard dog, Kona inspired Marco to start a new business. So, while in College, Marco opened Bubbles Pet Spa with his brother Marcelo. Since then, they have opened three stores in the Los Angeles area since 2005. Marco also competed on the second season of "Groomer Has it" where he placed sixth on the show.
Jennifer Started competing in 2005. Since then she has won over 70 grooming competition awards, multiple Best In Show and Best All Around Groomer awards. In 2012 Jennifer won Groom Olympic World Champion at Groom Expo with her Scottish Terrier. Jodi, NCMG and MPS, Meritus, owns the Puppy Spa Mobile Grooming Salon in New Jersey. Jodi was a four-year member of Groom Team USA and ended the 2004 season as #1 team member. She won Best American Groomer in 2005 and 2006 at Intergroom, and in 2006 she won the World Championship title in the Oster Invitational Tournament of Champions. Jodi has also won gold and bronze medals in 2005 in Barcelona Spain and a gold medal in 2007 in Milan Italy. Jodi has produced an instructional DVD Series for all levels of grooming, designed her own line of grooming apparel for groomers which is made in the USA, and written top selling grooming books.
Mackensie Murphy is a second generation Pet Stylist following in her mother's footsteps and becoming the very first second generation Groomteam USA. In 2005, Mackensie started her own grooming career at the young age of 18. Mackensie began her competition career in early 2011 and has been awarded multiple Best in Show awards, Best All Around Groomer awards and is a five time winner of the prestigious Liz Paul Memorial Best Scissored Poodle Award. Mackensie consistently stayed among the top 3 competitors and earned herself a position on Groomteam USA in 2012 which she has sustained up to this current year. Mackensie recently made the 2015 travel team and assisted with Bringing home the silver medal for Groomteam USA from Verbania, Italy.
Kenichi “Ken” Nagase is the owner of Bubbles Salon in Tokyo and the president of D.O.G. Inc. He studied grooming at a technical school in 1999 and after, he became a grooming instructor in his alma mater for 4 years. Ken has won Japan’s Best Cut and Freestyle category and he placed 2nd in Groom Expo’s Salon Freestyle class. He is best known for his unique Japanese “kawaii” style. He is always innovating styles (i.e. “French foot”) and developing original pet products. He has held grooming seminars all over the world. In addition, he has been featured in various grooming magazines and shows. His latest was a feature in a Netflix documentary.
Cat Opson is a self-taught groomer who has been working in the industry for over 17 years. She has won many awards and accolades for her grooming skills in both regular competition classes and special classes such as Creative Styling, Model Dog, and Rescue Rodeos. She has been owner/operator of Estrella Pet Grooming in Capistrano Beach, CA, for 13 years. Her specialty is poodles/poodle mixes and she boasts a large, busy clientele based solely on word of mouth advertising. She has also shown/handled dogs at AKC shows since 2000 and has earned several championship titles on her poodles owner handled.
Donna Owens is an internationally recognized grooming educator and industry consultant and works for Healthy Spot pet care, a nutrition company in Southern California. Donna is a respected speaker and contest judge with over 35 years’ experience in the pet industry. She is an IPG Master Groomer Certifier and Pet First Aid & CPR instructor. Donna earned a Teaching credential from University of San Diego, CA with an Associate Science degree in Health Sciences, and has since earned “Teacher of The Year” for adult education at Hacienda La Puente School District, and “Program of Excellence” from the California Board of Education in 2006. As a competitive groomer Donna won over 60 awards in All Breed classes and was a 1993 USA Groom Team alumni gold medalist.
Many know Chanel as the Dog Coordinator at different trade shows, which she has been doing since the age of 16. She has been attending trade shows for over 20 years absorbing all the knowledge she possibly could from her mother, Donna Owens and other industry icons. In addition to being a certified trainer for American Red Cross Chanel worked for both small animal and equine vets that specialized in reproduction and trauma. In 2017 her company, PawMat, won the Barkleigh Honors New Product of the Year.
Valerie, a second generation groomer, has been grooming professionally since 2001. At the age of 17, she enrolled at the Great Lakes Grooming Academy to get formal training from award-winning groomers, Meggan and Jeanne Mulcahy. She eventually became an instructor there. Valerie was ranked as one of the top 20 groomers in the country in 2013 and received a Barkleigh Honors nomination for “Up and Coming Groomer of the Year”. She has worked with AKC show handlers learning show cuts on Poodles, and handstripping on Lakeland Terriers and Wire-haired Dachshunds. She continues her education by attending multiple grooming shows a year.
Jill Pipino started grooming in 2000. She bought a turnkey operation, turning it into a successful business offering her clients everything from daycare to spa services and personality trims to show styles. She began regularly attending seminars and trade shows at the beginning of her career, and started competing in 2007. She has been a regular in the competition circuit ever since. In an effort to further her understanding of pet styling, she has trained privately with top stylists and breeders. Adriane Pope is an award-winning Pet stylist in Breed Profile and Creative Grooming. Her specialty is extreme creative styling and creative abstract design. Adriane is owner/groomer of Adriane's Groom and Go Mobile Grooming in Conway, SC., and also the owner of Rivertown Bed and Biscuit Luxury Kennel since 2004. She has 24 years of grooming experience, and has been mobile for 22 years. She started competing in breed profile in 1997 and started the creative world in 2004.

Jess Rona is a dog groomer in Los Angeles and is known for her Instagram, @JessRonaGrooming that has over 100k followers on it and features her signature slo-mo videos of dogs blowing in the wind to music. She directed the Tegan and Sara music video for “100x”, had a dog featured in Beck’s “WOW” video, and directed a commercial for the Standard hotel featuring her grooming clients. She’s been featured in O magazine, Marie Claire, Glamour, Elle, and Paper among many others, has been featured on several news programs including the Today Show and Good Morning America, she has had several write ups online – PopSugar, Buzzfeed, and Refinery69 to name a few. Jay and his wife, Michelle, own Here Comes the Groom, a highly successful mobile grooming salon in Germantown, Tennessee. Jay has won multiple Best in Show and Best All-Around Groomer awards and helped Groomteam USA win the Gold medal in Calgary, Canada, in 2001. Jay was named American Groomer of the Year in 2001, Groomer of the Year Award at Westminster Dog Show in 2002, and Grooming Judge of the Year in 2004. In 2003 Jay won an International Gold and Bronze medal in Barcelona, Spain, helping groomteam USA win the silver team medal. He and Sue Zecco offer seminars nationally. Jay won a Barkleigh Honors Award at the event that he emceed.
Susan has been grooming dogs and cats for over forty years and has taught grooming for fifteen years. Her first love of dogs began very young while on the television set of Rin Tin Tin and then in her teens on the set of Hogan’s Heroes. Like many groomers, Susan turned a “hobby” into her life work. Her career began with showing and grooming her own dogs, progressed to showing and grooming for others as a Certified Professional Handler and, in 1997, Susan turned in her show leash for a judge’s book. She now judges breeds in five groups and has judged grooming competitions. Susan is presently an AKC Delegate for the Black Russian Terrier Club of America, where she holds the office of Recording Secretary and serves as Chairman of the Judges Education Committee.
Grooming has been Christine’s passion since she was 12 years old. Christine competed in the very first grooming competition held in Australia, Groomalong 1992 and has been a leading figure in the Australian grooming industry ever since. Christine is a multi-award winning groomer whose work has been featured on prime time television segments Sydney Weekender and Talk to the Animals and also in numerous print media magazines including the Australian Women’s Weekly. Christine is the “Grooming Ambassador“ for Purina Petlife. Christine is an original member of Groom Team Australia and is the current team manager. In 2010 she became the first Australian groomer to be accepted onto the International Judges Association panel. Christine is the leading instructor at The Grooming School which she co-founded with her husband Les in 2004.
Corina stumbled into the dog grooming industry by chance, but has brought fresh eyes and new ideas. She opened The Laundromutt, a self-service dog wash and grooming salon, on the concept that washing your own dog should be easy and fun. She believes that your dog should always be in the most educated hands, and in the cleanest and calmest environment possible. Corina is a college biology instructor and is currently in graduate school for Biotechnology.
Koko is an International Certified Master Groomer and Certifier of IPG. She was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She holds many awards including, Multiple Best in Shows and Best All Around Groomer awards. Koko earned her place on Groom Team USA in 2007, and 2008, and represented the US in the 2009 World Team Grooming Championship in Germany, where she helped her team win the Gold. Koko was nominated for the Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award for American Groomer of the Year in 2008. Since retiring from the competition ring, Koko has started mentoring advanced groomers. Also, has traveled as a speaker, certifier and judge in the US, and other countries. She is currently living in Tennessee and owns her own mobile grooming business, Koko’s Paws.
Joey had 35 years of experience under industry visionary John Nash. He trained thousands of groomers as an instructor and director of Nash schools. In 1995, he became the owner of the Nash Academy of Animal Arts, New Jersey. Joey is an IJA judge and four-time nominee for Judge of the Year. Joey has appeared on numerous television shows, including Animal Planet's Dogs 101, NBC's The Today Show, and Fox's The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet. As a judge on Animal Planet's Groomer Has It, a grooming-based reality TV show, Joey brought a technical insight to the show.

Annie Williams has been grooming dogs professionally since 2013, and competing since 2015. In just a few short years, she has become an international award winning groomer, Barkleigh Honours Up & Coming Groomer of the Year 2016 nominee, Groom Team Canada 2017 travel team member, a representative and educator with the Andis Company, and the owner of a successful salon in Langley, BC, Canada. Olga is a certified master groomer and owns two grooming salons, Elite Pet Spa & Boutique in Madison, NJ and Grooming Gallery in Morris Plains, NJ. Olga is 2009 and 2010 American groomer of the year by cardinal pet, and was awarded the Lynne Carver memorial award as best all-around stylist 2009. Olga was born in Russia where she had a master degree in engineering and finished law school. Olga is groom team USA member in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and won silver medal at the world grooming competition in Belgium, 2011 as a part of traveling groom team usa. Sue is a 2011 Barkleigh Honors Award winner. She is a Certified Master Groomer with both the National Dog Groomers Association (NDGAA) and the International Professional Groomers (IPG). She has been grooming for over 30 years. She has won multiple grooming awards, including her biggest show accomplishments: 1998 International Groomer of the Year and 1999 Oster Invitational Tournaments Grand Champion. Sue has been a member of GroomTeam USA since 1997 and broke all records in 1999, earning 113 points. She is also a Wahl Clipper Corporation spokesperson. With Jay Scruggs, she conducts a series of full-day seminars called Super Styling Sessions. Sue breeds Standard Poodles under the “Dreamcatcher” prefix.
